New Year - New Opportunities!
Both the 21st Century and Fimu have reached their second decade. Fimu intends to face this brand-new decade fully present in the here and now, with an eye towards tomorrow!
Moments ago, in November 2009, we celebrated this organization’s 10th Anniversary. As part of the celebrations we took a fond look towards the past, remembering Fimu’s accomplishments in the fields of multiculturalism and sports during the first ten years of our existence.
Now it is time to move on. The challenges of a new decade await us, and we shall triumph!
In 2010, Fimu continues to promote tolerance and human rights in sports, as well as elsewhere in human society. The numbers of our member organizations continue to grow. We work in cooperation with an already large number of partners, and continually forge new alliances both in Finland and abroad.
For 2010, Fimu is planning even more courses than last year. We are planning a Sports Symposium, which will be organized jointly with other organizations in Finland. We are also planning to launch a brand new campaign, which aims towards 2011. Look forward to hearing more about all these planned activities in the near future.
We take one more look towards the past, and give our thanks to everyone who has worked with us over the past ten years. Without you all, we could not have done all that we have accomplished to this day.
And now, let us turn our attention towards the coming times. Let us make the second decade of the 21st Century a Decade of Equality and Well-being! Together we can make changes, both big and small - a change towards the better!
Let us take good care of ourselves and of each other. We can - and we will!
